Ilse’s story
At 12 years old, Ilse Bryan is the youngest Circus Star USA 2017 competitor. Ilse began training in dance and gymnastics at the age of three. As a nine-year-old, she attended Circus Smirkus camp and found her love of circus. Ilse has since trained as an aerialist at Arielle Extreme in East Greenwich, Rhode Island. In 2016, Ilse was accepted into the award-winning Circus Smirkus Big Top Tour, performing nearly 70 shows every summer in the circus’s traditional traveling one-ring circus tent. Her specialties include hand balancing, contortion, silks, lyra, mismatched socks and neon spandex. Ilse attends the Hamilton School at Wheeler in Providence, Rhode Island. This is her first competition.
