Mykelle Walton is a self-taught aerial hoop artist based in Southern Idaho, who uses movement to create one-of-a-kind experiences about life, philosophy, and physics. She has been an acrobat for over 23 years and has always been addicted to hanging from anything that she can get her hands on.
After her career as a level 10 gymnast, Mykelle picked up aerial arts and dance as a full-time passion in 2014, and has performed professionally ever since. She has graced the stage for theatrical productions such as Tarzan, Vagina Monologues, and Jesus Christ Superstar and has been highlighted at events like TEDxBoise, Discovery Center of Idaho’s Annual Gala, Konnexion Music Festival, Chalk the Bloc Climbing Competition, and Magic Valley Folk Festival.
Using modern dance, Mykelle has contributed works to productions at the College of Southern Idaho, Orpheum Theatre, and done other independent choreography around the Northwest. She is also the poster girl for the revolutionary new lift system, the Butterfly Lift, produced by Rock Exotica out of Utah.
As a creative director, Mykelle founded, produces, and directs TEDxTwinFalls’ annual event each year, and plans to pursue a career as a philosophical circus choreographer/director in a small circus company of her own one day.
