Cindy Whiteman

Cindy Whiteman was born and raised in Montreal, Canada. She left the sport of artistic gymnastics at the age of 11 to join Cirque du Soleil’s Alegria as a fast-track and Russian bars artist. After 10 years of touring and a four-year hiatus, she joined the cast of Wintuk as an acrobatic dog character/tumbler on stilts in 2008. She was also the acrobatic captain for the fast-track act in Alegria (2000-2004) and dance captain of the acro dogs on Wintuk. During her time performing for Cirque du Soleil, she visited over 40 cities across the globe and performed in venues like the Royal Albert Hall and Madison Square Garden.

During her acrobatic hiatus, Cindy worked as an artistic coach with Cirque Du Soleil at the international headquarters. She used that time to fine-tune her teaching skills and really fell in love with the process of turning acrobats into artists, seeing the potential in someone, developing teaching techniques specifically catered to them, and creating something wonderful. Later, she went to work with Belluscious Productions as a manager for special events that mix circus arts, high fashion, and performances with a feminine edge.

Since then, Cindy went on to join the Las Vegas casting team at Cirque du Soleil. Learn more about Cindy.
